Cape Town

We were in Cape Town and environs for about four days, two of which we spent in the city itself, one spent exploring the peninsula on which the city sits (which includes the Cape of Good Hope), and one about two hours away in the town of Gansbaai, enjoying some up close and personal time with Great White Sharks.  There are three photo albums and two videos, which you can get to by clicking on the thumbnails or linked titles below

Cape Town city.  Includes views of the Victoria and Albert waterfront, Robben Island prison, and the famous Kirstenbosch botanical gardens.  The city is overlooked by Table Mountain, and this album includes view of the mountain as well as panoramas of Cape Town taken from it.

The peninsula.  Includes the Boulders penguin colony, views of the beaches and beach towns, the Cape of Good Hope, and some of the landscape and wildlife.

Marimba band.  Marimba music seems to be ubiquitous throughout southern Africa, and street marimba bands are a common sight at the Victoria and Albert waterfront.  So here's a minute or two of one of them...
